Frequently Asked Questions

General
What is the main goal of Simple Life Check?
Simple Life Check is a supportive wellness tool designed to ensure that if something unexpected happens, your loved ones are notified quickly. It provides a safety net for someone living alone, older adults or anyone managing physical or emotional challenges, offering peace of mind for both you and your family.
How does Simple Life Check know when to contact my emergency contact(s)?
It calls your phone at the day(s) and time(s) you choose - answer the call and you're checked in. If you don't answer, your emergency contacts receive a text message asking them to check on you.
Can more than one check-in be set for the same day?
You may set as many check ins as you feel you need. For example, some older folks may prefer to have a morning and early evening check.
Can Simple Life Check summon first responders?
That would not be the intent of Simple Life Check, since your family and friends would typically be your emergency contacts. However, 911 in quite a few areas will receive and respond to text messages. Best to check with your local law enforcement agency that handles 911 calls if you plan to include 911 in your Emergenct Contacts.
Will there be any recurring charges or fees?
No.
Will my name and phone number be sold to marketers?
Definitely not. Your data will never be sold or shared.
Technical
Which platforms are supported?
Android and IOS are fully suppoterd. Simple Life Check is built for Android phones and iPhones. The app may work on some tablets, but that was not the intention and is not supported.
Support
How can I report a bug or suggest a feature?
We value community feedback! You can reach out through our contact page or submit a detailed report via our support email listed in the footer.
Can I get a refund of the purchase price if the app is not what I expected?
Refund eligibility is determined by the policies of the platform through which you purchased the app. For Android Users: Most refund requests are handled directly through the Google Play Store. If it has been less than 48 hours since your purchase, you can request a refund through your Google Play account history. For requests made after the initial 48-hour window, Worldwide Designs will consider refunds within 90 days of purchase on a case-by-case basis.
My iPhone is not sending the emergency sms message to my designated contacts. Did I forget to do something?
On an Iphone the issue can usually be resolved by adding your phone number preceded by +1 in the Voice Call Escalation box on the Set Life Check page.
Usage
Is my data stored locally or in the cloud?
The app accesses the device contacts solely to let users designate emergency contacts. Only the name and phone number of contacts the user explicitly designates as "emergency contacts" are transmitted to our backend server. This data is sent only at the moment a scheduled wellness-check alarm fires and is used for one purpose: to send an emergency SMS to those contacts if the user does not check in within the timeout window. No contacts data is stored beyond the active check-in, used for marketing, or shared with any third party. User data is not stored in the cloud.
